Hey everyone. So, in case you haven’t already noticed (there actually wasn’t that much to notice), we’ve decided to postpone our east coast tour in July. Things happened at home that made it sort of impossible, and it probably makes more sense to just spend more time getting our new CD out.
Which brings us to the exciting news that our new album “Wedding Song” is ready and our CD release is taking place here in Austin at the Emo’s Lounge this Friday, June 29th, 2007 . We’re super excited, and we have a great line up of friends (who happen to be in badass bands) playing with us. Plus we’ll be having most of the extra musicians who played on the record (and a couple other folks) play a few songs with us. Wunderbar!
But that’s in like two days, so let’s look a little farther in the future. We’ll be making “Wedding Song” available at local stores, and as always you can mail Stacy a check or some cash and we’ll send you one. We’ll also be making it purchasable by credit card through our friend Chris at the Thirty Ghosts Store.
Speaking of purchasing our CD: we’d totally appreciate if you did so, cuz we got robbed! Someone broke into the Cue house and, while thankfully not taking any of our instruments, made out with our whole band fund as well as a lot of Jason’s stuff. So, every purchase of our CD is one step further towards paying off the expenses of the last few months of recording, mixing, printing etc. And if you happen see some person with a sack full of DVDs trying to pry open a black cashbox and who smells of Joop cologne (weird story), please kick him in the head for us.
Also taking place in the very near future are some Texas shows. We’ll be playing San Antonio, Houston and Denton on July 5th, 6th, and 7th respectively, so please come see us if you live there. Check the tour dates for details. And hopefully we’ll have tour dates to announce within the next few months.
Ok, good times!

Hello everyone. I don't know why we don't update the News section of our website more often. News is good, it helps you keep up with things. Anyway, here's what's going on in our lives.
We recently finished the basic tracking of our new record at Hot Traxxx!!! studio here in Austin (where else?). We'll be doing overdubs and mixing and stuff over the next couple weeks and then mastering and printing, and hopefully have the album out by late June. We have a couple new demos of songs in our MP3 section, but those aren't from our recent recording session. They were recorded in our living room on a digital 8-track last fall, but they sound kind of neat in their own right. But we'll probably be posting some rough mixes on the site soon; so far it sounds real good. We'll have our CD release in Austin in late June at Emo's.
We're also going to try to pull off an east coast/midwest tour in July. If you know us, please come out and say hi! We should be posting dates soon. Attn Chandler's, Milestone, Cafe con Leche, etc.: here we come!
Also, we added a few photos from recording and maybe a few that Clarke's dad took a couple years ago, which for some reason we never got around to posting. Jason and Colin look really cool; Stacy and Clarke look dorky. Clarke's Dad is our Richard Avedon, or Glen E. Friedman.
Ok, hope to see you all soon with a new album in hand!

Ok, so SXSW is over and now it feels like a new year. And it feels like a year since we updated the news section of our site. So, let's recap:
---We played CMJ last September. That was fun, if a bit underattended. We played North Six (a relatively large venue in Williamsburg) to, like, five people. But it was Clarke's birthday and we had family and friends there, so it was fun. Polish food and fancy cabs that play an endless loop of vintage Lionel Richie videos rock!
---We did a mini-tour on our way to CMJ, and that was briefly exciting. We played a couple shows with the Octopus Project. Knoxville was fucking badass (thanks Pilot Light and Regina and CHANDLERS) and someone got shot outside of the Ottobar, where we played in Baltimore, during Octo Proj's set. Ouch.
---During that mini-tour, Toto from Octo Proj made us an amazing mix CD. On it was DJ Assault's "Ass n' Titties." Our lives were changed forever.
---Fall and winter were fairly uneventful, but there were a few bright points: Our friends The Glass Family released their delightful debut album "Sleep Inside this Wheel," and we were honored to play their CD release. We played a fun free show with This Dog's a Lion, Jana Hunter (as Jracula) and Quien, es BOOM! That was cool. We were part of our homies The Tuna Helpers' Valentines Day spectacular, and that was spectacular as always. Over the course of 5 months we played a couple shows with our friend Casiotone for the Painfully Alone in Austin, and he just keeps getting better and better. We are also now fans of Dear Nora and the Donkeys. Ok, maybe fall and winter were kinda eventful.
SXSW, Highlights:
---Played a suprisingly rewarding show at Buffalo Billiards, which is kind of a weird venue for us, but it went off well, and as always, friends and family and maybe a few people we don't even know made it that much cooler. Very cool that we played right before Benko, stuck around and watched them. Then we went and caught the Glass Family/Octopus Project and Mogwai (just missed My Education).
---Jason and Clarke got real drunk like every night (more on that later.) Clarke and sister Shannon ate taquitos from Whataburger, now a ritual.
---Played a day show at Whisky Bar with Lomita, the wonderful Woozyhelmet, Boyskout, and Savage Republic (those dudes have been around.) Kinda odd lineup and kinda odd to be at Whisky Bar during the day (it really loses its mystique in the daylight without the hipster fashionistas and the $1drink specials), but it was a lot of fun. Thanks Bart!
---The Joggers put on a grrrreat set at Red's Scoot Inn. Eric Bachman was fucking wonderful on the 18th floor of a downtown hotel. Rye Coalition made Jason and Clarke drink too much whiskey. Then Jason and Clarke snuck into Animal Collective like 16 year olds, but really we had to. Their set was awesome and disorienting. So disorienting in fact that Clarke fell on his face shortly afterwards in front of the Whisky Bar. Thanks alcohol! (And thanks to Eric from Benko for helping Clarke recover from said faceplant.)
---Dirty Projectors, Dirty Projectors, Dirty Projectors.
SXSW, Lowlights:
---Stacy was sick the whole time and Colin worked every fucking day of the festival. He will be exhausted until June.
Now, the future:
---We're tryin' to write new songs! It's hard!
---We'll be playing the Wall of Sound festival in Ft. Worth, Texas next month. A shitload of awesome bands over two days, including Low and the New Year. We tentatively play at 2pm on Saturday, April 8th, on the upstairs stage. Should be awesome.
And we have new pictures coming on the site. There are lots of funny pictures from our two tours from last year, and we also put up some others from our shoot with Aubrey Edwards (we feel her ubiquity) and made sure to subtitle them www.aubreyedwards.com cuz that's what you're supposed to do (sorry we caught on so late!). Hopefully we'll have some other tour dates coming soon. Thanks for the support, hope to see you soon!
Cheers!

Ok, we haven't updated this thing forever. We've been back from tour for over month, but let's give it its belated address:
Thanks to Margaux and Alan and Regina and aunt Bernadette and the Begelmans and Jorge and Shannon and the Sleepy Horses and the Last Picture Show and hotels that didn't charge us for checking out late. Especially that one guy who said he was going to and then got all soft on us and let us go.
Thanks to the Milestone in Charlotte, N.C. for truly being a Ghetto Fortress.
Thanks to the nice bands that we played with.
Thanks to the Muffaletta at Central Grocery, the macaroni and cheese at Chandler's Deli, the Bim Bop at Fuse, the Huevo Rancheros at Cafe con Leche, everything at that Mediterranean deli in Chapel Hill, and the hot waitress that Colin tried to flirt with at the Grit.
Thanks to Elizabeth Jones in Hot Springs, NC for the kindness and the pizza.
Thanks to Bobby Hill and his cousin for towing us to Asheville.
Thanks to Eggy and all the Houston folks for the awesome send-off.
Thanks for the free Yuenglings on tap at the Galaxy Hut in Arlington, VA; someone needs to bring that beer to Texas.
No thanks to the blowout on the highway outside of Houston.
No thanks to the brakes going out in the Appalachian mountains of North Carolina. That shit was scary.
No thanks to the insane heat that was inescapable all throughout the south and northeast. But it was still kind of cool. Sweat tastes good sometimes.
Thanks to everyone who came out and who bought a CD or shirt and/or said nice things to us.
Thanks to clubs who were nice and paid us.
ok, I think that's everything.
We're not gonna do any shows in Austin until after CMJ in September. Hopefully we'll have something in late September or early October. Speaking of CMJ, our show is at 8pm September 14 (Don't forget to wish Clarke a happy Blorthday)at North Six in Brooklyn with a bunch of cool bands. And we have a few shows on our way up to NYC, please check our tour dates for those shows. Hope everything is well with you. See you soon.....

Thanks so much to every one who watched us at the Trail of Dead show. The whole thing was pretty huge and we were very happy to have a small (but very fun) part of it. It was great to see a revived Erik Bogle play a triumphant last show with le octo proj. After TOD's set we loaded up our van out front only to be caught in the middle of some big brawl fight. Jason ended up getting exposed to pepper spray while on the phone with 911; it was kind of fucked. But Bullet Train to Vegas helped balance out the night with true niceness while rocking everybody's balls and boobs off. Fuck Dying!
We don't have anything coming up at the moment, but we should have some shows in Austin in June, and hopefully in Houston ass well. Unfortunately we won't be able to play the benefit show at the Church of the Friendly Ghost, but you should definitely go anyway; fucking Woozyhelmet and our good friend Steve Arceri are playing and it's for a worthy cause (go Kim Hill!). While we're plugging local 0bands we like, please go to theglassfamily.org and download their demos; "Stop Dead in Your Tracks" is ruling us at the moment.
As always, please write to Stacy if you would like to purchase our new CD, and it's also on sale at Waterloo, Cheapo's, and Sound on Sound. We are also in the process of setting up online distribution through Thirty Ghosts Records (they put out our friends in My Education's new album, and they do online distribution for Six Gun Lover records, a fine Austin record label); more details on this at our merchandise page. Oh yeah, Jason has been making Cue t-shirts, and they're pretty cool. We've just been selling them at our last couple of shows, but we'll probably soon be selling them at our merch page ass well.
Stay cool, or warm, or however the fuck you're supposed to be in this unpredictable weather, and we hope to see you all soon.
fuck dying!

Thanks to everybody who came out to our cd release party Friday at Emo's! The show was like a dream come true and we had a wonderful time!
In other news, we got two great reviews on Thursday right before the show. You can check them out in our new press page, or just by clicking on these links: The Chronicle Review and The XLent Review
We've got a couple shows coming up in the near future. We'll be playing again this Saturday (4/30) at Emo's along with The Black, The Sword, Octopus Project, Bullet Train to Vegas, and ...And You Will Know Us By the Trail of Dead. We should go on around 10:30, but the whole show starts at 9:30 so come out early. It should be fun. Also, we don't actually know for sure yet, but we are hoping fate will make way for us to play a benefit for some kids who were arrested during the Bush inauguration, among them our good friend Steve Arceri's little sister. With or without Cue, that show is going to happen Friday, May 6 at the Church of the Friendly Ghost *early* at 7pm. Woozyhelmet (we luv them) is going to playing, as well and Woozy-Brandi and Steve's new band. We're at the mercy of the Church's neighbors and noise ordinances, so we'll let you know if we end up playing, but we think you should go no matter what.

Thanks so much to everybody who came out to our SXSW shows. We had a great time! Le Bone played so focking fast, and we all tried to keep up and it was delightful. Especially thanks to Michael from The Glass Family (They are awesome! For show dates check their website: www.theglassfamily.org) for getting us that Saturday show at Red’s Scoot Inn. Our latest news is that we have a date set for our cd release show! It’s going to be on Friday, April 22 at Emo’s with our friends The Octopus Project (1am), Shearwater (12am), us (11pm) and The Sun (10pm). We have two other April shows as well. On Tuesday, April 5 we’re playing at Emo’s at 11pm along with AM Syndicate, Asobi Seksu (from NYC), and Experimental Aircraft. We heard a rumor that this is ExAir’s last show, but we don’t know if it’s true. It’s also our friend Jeremy Scott’s birthday, so come on out and throw cupcakes at him. And on Saturday, April 30 we are playing at Emo’s at 10pm along with The Black, The Sword and Trail of Dead. After these shows we probably won’t be playing again until June, because Octopus is probably going to be stealing our Early Colin for their west coast tour, but we’ll keep you posted.Oh yeah, we are also officially selling cd’s at Waterloo, Cheapo’s, and Sound on Sound! Whoo! And we’re in the process of getting signed up with cdbaby.com to sell our cd’s conveniently through the internet. However, until we are overwhelmed by the shear volume of requests, we will be happy to mail you a cd if you send $10 to Stacy’s house:Cue, c/o Stacy Meshbane 1905 East 21st Street Austin, TX 78722(Cash is fine, but please make checks payable to Stacy Meshbane.)Hope to see you soon…Luv, Cue

Welcome to our brand new website and our first Cue newsflash! Our biggest news is that we are finally releasing our first album as a four-piece, “Bring Back My Love.” We picked them up last week and are working on setting up a CD release party sometime in late April. Clarke has just moved into a new house, so we are also busy working on setting up our new garage practice space on the east side. We are also looking forward to a fun SXSW this week. Our official showcase is on Wednesday, March 16 at 8:00pm at The Velvet Spade at 912 Red River (old Caucus club). We’ll also be playing at the Red Scoot Inn on East 4th Street on Saturday, March 19 at 2:50pm. For the full line-up go to www.eastsidescoot.com.
Thanks to everybody who’s helped us get the album out! We’ll keep you posted about our CD release!
Love,
Cue
